traditional way. I teach Reiki in small groups or in bespoke 1:1 settings. My teaching style is fun, magical and often transformative...
You're in good hands...
I’ve been teaching Reiki since 2000 and have been fortunate to learn and practice in both Japan and the UK with some inspirational Reiki Masters and Reiki Teachers.
I teach The Five Reiki Pillars which honour the traditional way of Mikao Usui’s Reiki teachings. They consist of developing spiritual and mental focus through the following:
-
The Reiki Principles
-
Hands on Healing
-
Meditations and Techniques
-
Reiki Symbols and Mantras
-
Reiji and Attunements or Initiations
Reiki is taught in 3 levels *see below*. It's necessary to leave some space between each level to help integrate and get to know the energy. I usually recommend at least 1-2 months in between each level.

What is Reiki Master Training?Reiki Master Training is the Third Level to learning Reiki, and is taught in two parts. The first part of becoming a Reiki Master is learning the Reiki Master Symbols, advanced healing techniques and further meditations adding value to your healing abilities. The second part is focused on learning how to teach Reiki to others by learning the Reiki attunement and ceremony process. This allows you to initiate students and teach Reiki yourself. You don’t have to become a Reiki Teacher to become a Reiki Master. Both parts of the Reiki Master training are traditionally considered an apprenticeship and is taught on a one-to-one basis over a period of time to allow you to absorb and process all the teachings, spiritual ceremonies and new healing techniques.
-
Is a Reiki Master also a Healer?A Reiki Master is also a healer. They have been working with the Reiki Energy / Chi / Ki, for a greater amount of time and have learned how to integrate all the Reiki Symbols and teachings into their healing practice to work with their clients. This deepens and intensifies the energy and chi connection, allowing for a deeper physical and emotional healing for the other person. Reiki energy uses gentle hand movements with the intention to guide the flow of healthy energy through the client's body to reduce stress and promote emotional and physical healing. This is known in Reiki as universal life force energy or Chi /Ki.
-
Where can I find qualified Reiki practitioners? You can find qualified Reiki practitioners easily these days by visiting personal websites, at a Natural Health Centre or clinic, or on Complementary health websites and Reiki Associations. Just make sure they are fully insured like I am.
-
How does Reiki manifest goals?Reiki can manifest goals beautifully as it is a combination of living your life with positive thoughts, spiritual teachings and a loving practice. This allows for action and change. Reiki allows you to live your life in gratitude and abundance rather than living in lack. This allows you to manifest the things you desire in your life, like loving relationships, a satisfying career and good health. Or as I like to say “Focus on the Magic not the Tragic”. Thoughts have power, so focusing on what you already have with grace, and what you desire in a positive way encourages more of what you actually want.
-
How to become an Usui Reiki Master? To become an Usui Reiki Master, you must receive the Reiki Master Symbol and be attuned by an Usui Reiki Master Teacher like myself who has been initiated into the Usui Reiki lineage system. I honour the spiritual lineage and Reiki Principles of Mikao Usui and have been trained in a traditional way.
-
How do I become a certified Reiki Master? To become a certified Reiki Master, you must first complete your Reiki Level 1 and Reiki Level 2 training. It’s important to let some time pass before starting your Reiki Master training, this is usually a minimum of three months. Only a Reiki Master Teacher like myself can initiate others to become a Reiki Master, as Reiki Master Teachers have received all of the master attunements, symbols, ceremonies and teaching techniques allowing them to teach and pass Reiki on to others. You will become a qualified Reiki Master once you have been attuned to the Reiki Master Symbol and received the advanced Reiki teachings, meditations and healings.
-
Can you learn to be a Reiki Master online?Learning to become a Reiki Master online is possible as energy transmits time and space, however, it is not advised. The traditional Usui Mikao way to learn and become a Reiki Master is in person and on a one-to-one basis. This way, you can experience the universal life force energy directly from your Reiki Master’s hands in person. This is especially wonderful when it comes to your final Reiki attunement ceremony and receiving the Reiki Master symbol.

How long does it take to train for ReikiIt can take a variable amount of time to train for Reiki. It’s learned in 3 stages. The 3 different Reiki levels are: Reiki Level 1: The ability to heal ones’ self Reiki Level 2: The ability to heal ones’ self and others – Reiki practitioner level Reiki Level 3: The ability to heal ones’ self, others, and to teach the technique to students (Level 3 is split into 2 parts: Reiki Master and Reiki Master Teacher) Level 1 and 2 are usually taught over 2 days on a weekend (about 12 hours each level) The Reiki Master Level or Level 3 will usually take up to 15 weeks (about 30 hours) It’s encouraged to leave some space in between each level, usually about 3 months to allow time for practice and for the Reiki energy to integrate and deepen.
-
What are the initial changes (first 21 days) after Reiki initiation? The initial changes after Reiki initiation can vary for each student. For 21 days after your attunement, your body, mind and spirit goes through a cleanse or detox. It takes 3 days to go through each of the 7 major chakras, hence the 21 days. To assist you in becoming aware of the changes that you’re going through, I suggest that you record any physical changes, emotions or dreams that occur within this time in a diary. It is also recommended that you record self-treatments and treatments on others. One of the first things Reiki does is to detoxify the physical, mental and emotional body. Some common symptoms experienced are: Disruption of the skin Stomach upsets Headaches or fogginess Emotional releases & outbursts Laughing and feeling fantastic Vivid dreams & thoughts Positive changes in your life Allow yourself to go through this process with love and compassion. Remember to drink lots of water to facilitate this cleanse. And self-treatment daily is highly recommended throughout this 21-day period.

How fast does EFT tapping work? How fast EFT works really depends on how intense the level of stress there is. Lower intensity issues may only require 3 to 5 rounds to provide relief, while more intense issues may take 10 to 12 rounds to decrease the immediate stress. Intense or chronic issues are best addressed through consistent tapping over time with an experienced EFT practitioner like myself. The benefits are accumulative, meaning you will get the best results by tapping regularly.
-
What can EFT help with?EFT may be able to help with a wide variety of issues. I have used it with many of my clients successfully for the following issues below: · Addictions · Food Cravings · Anger management · Anxiety & Stress · PTSD · Childhood Trauma · Depression · Insomnia · Pain Management · Phobias · Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem · Relationships · Social Anxiety · Career & Purpose in life · Boundaries · Imposter Syndrome · Fear of Change · Grief
-
How do I know which EFT practitioner is best for me?Knowing if an EFT practitioner is best for you can seem like a mine field. I suggest looking through their website and see if you feel drawn to them, also have a look at what other qualifications they have to offer, a multi skilled therapist with a broad variety of skills like myself, can be very beneficial for your recovery, as it works well with other techniques such as Reiki Healing, EMDR, Sound Healing and Breath Work.
-
What should you say with EFT?What should I say when tapping the EFT points is a question I often get asked? It’s best to bring awareness to the issue first, even if this is negative. By acknowledging the feeling and saying it out it loud when tapping, can bring acceptance to the issue faster. Once you have awareness and acceptance, it’s easier to move towards change. We often refer to the talking part of EFT as the ‘Tapping Script’. Here are two examples of what you could say if you are either in physical pain, or feeling anxious or stressed: “Even though I’m feeling anxious and stressed right now, I am moving towards loving and accepting myself just as I am” “Even though my body is in pain right now, I accept myself fully and trust my body has the ability to heal”
-
How often and how long should I tap for with EFT?I suggest EFT tapping every day, as studies have shown that tapping daily can reduce cortisol levels by 43%. The best place I recommend to tap is in the shower in the morning, as this sets you up for a good day. And then again before you go to bed, as this allows you to release the stress of the day. It’s totally safe to use EFT as often as you need, so feel free to use it regularly throughout the day as needed. The 9 tapping points above are considered to be one full tapping round. I recommend tapping at least 3 full rounds. If you still feel stress or anxiety, then do another 3 or 4 tapping rounds. It can sometimes take up to 10 to 15 full rounds of EFT tapping to bring your body and mind to a relaxed state. So be patient and kind to yourself, and keep tapping.
-
What are the EFT Tapping points? The EFT Tapping Points are found on the top half of the body but also include points on the hands and fingers. These are the 9 main EFT Tapping points below, including the associated emotions related to each point: 1. Side of the Hand - Karate Chop Releases feeling stuck and promotes ease in moving forward, letting go, healing from grief, and becoming happy in the present moment. 2. Eyebrow Releases trauma, hurt, and sadness and promotes peace and emotional healing 3. Side of the Eye Releases resentment and anger and promotes clarity and compassion. 4. Under the Eye Releases fear and anxiety and promotes feelings of contentment, calmness, and safety. 5. Under the Nose Releases shame and powerlessness and promotes self-acceptance, self-empowerment, and compassion for self and others. 6. Under the Mouth Releases confusion and uncertainty and promotes clarity, certainty, confidence, and self-acceptance. 7. Collarbone Releases the feeling of being stuck, promotes ease in moving forward, and boosts confidence and clarity. 8. Under the Arm Releases guilt, worry, and obsessing and promotes clarity, confidence, relaxation, and compassion for self and others. 9. Top of the Head Opens the crown chakra and promotes spiritual connection, while anchoring in the new balance and alignment from the tapping round that has just been completed.
-
Can you teach yourself EFT?Teaching yourself EFT is possible, as the tapping points are easy to get the hang of quickly. However, I recommend working with an experienced therapist like myself to get through specific difficult issues, especially as the sub-conscious mind likes to protect you, so it sometimes gets in the way. A skilled EFT practitioner will be able to navigate useful and specific tapping scripts to enable fast results.
-
How Does EFT Work?EFT Tapping works by combining both cognitive (the brain) and somatic (the body) elements. This combination helps to regulate the Central Nervous System, (CNS) and also reduce cortisol hormone levels in the body. By tapping the specific acupressure points on the face and body, plus using specific targeted language, it can help re-balance your energy, alleviate physical and emotional pain and help release emotional distress from past or present events. Many studies have demonstrated its efficiency for both physiological and psychological symptoms. It’s a highly effective technique to help with many issues like anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, social anxiety, imposter syndrome, limiting beliefs, plus much more. EFT Tapping rewires the brain's response to the proposed threat, and the thoughts and emotions associated with it, we then can experience more calm in our body as the relaxed amygdala sends the signal to the endocrine system to stop producing stress hormones, cortisol.
-
What is EFT Tapping?EFT Tapping (also known as Emotional Freedom Technique, EFT, or Tapping) is a form of counselling, or talking therapy, that draws on various theories of alternative medicine including Chinese Acupuncture, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Energy Medicine. EFT stimulates specific acupressure points, by tapping, or rubbing these points while focusing and bringing awareness to present or past issues that may represent some kind of personal fear or trauma. By tapping on these points and using specific tapping scripts, EFT is fast becoming one the most effective healing tools to help reduce anxiety and stress, and is used by many clinical therapists throughout the world.
-
Is there any science behind EFT Tapping?EFT Tapping is supported by a large and growing body of scientific research now, many clinical studies have now shown that regular tapping can reduce cortisol levels (the stress hormone) by 43%. Dr Peta Stapleton shines a spotlight on the latest in EFT Research, and translates in laypersons' terms in many videos, showing how EFT has been shown to positively address PTSD, other stress-related conditions, and also depression. Research shows that regular EFT Tapping rewires the brain's response to the threat, and the thoughts and emotions associated with it, we can then experience more calm in our body as the relaxed Amygdala sends the signal to the Endocrine System to stop producing stress hormones (Cortisol). The CNS (central nervous system) can then relax. Links to Scientific Research and Studies for EFT Tapping https://eftinternational.org/discover-eft-tapping/eft-science-research/
