EFT Tapping for Grief & Loss

How can EFT help with grief and loss? EFT has been shown to be effective in reducing the emotional response to grief and loss. It can help reduce feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, and anxiety, and also promote emotional balance and peace.

EFT Tapping is an evidence-based and clinically proven technique to be helpful for people experiencing grief. The techniques foundations are based on validating and acknowledging every thought and feeling that is presented rather than ignoring it.

EFT is a powerful technique that uses a combination of somatic (the body) and cognitive (the brain) techniques by tapping on Acupuncture points or meridians on the body whilst using specific language taken from NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming).

EFT Tapping for Grief and Loss

By tapping on these specific acupressure points on the body while focusing on painful emotions, we can release energy blockages and promote emotional healing. EFT is a gentle and non-invasive approach that can help you move through the stages of grief and restore emotional balance.

This powerful combination helps to validate your feelings, helping you to acknowledge and accept them rather than pushing them away, dismissing them or totally ignoring them completely. When guided by an experienced and advanced EFT practitioner like myself, this then allows you to move through each individual feeling as it presents itself in a kind and gentle way. This non-invasive approach helps individuals work through their emotional pain and reach a place of calmness and acceptance.

Tapping allows you to get into the body to actually feel what you are experiencing rather than just thinking about it, as no healing comes from the brain alone, you cannot think your way through this kind of pain and sadness. True healing occurs in the body so it can move and have a chance to change. This emotional freedom then allows you to move forward in your life more easily.

Grief is a natural response when experiencing loss. It can be an intense emotional suffering, an overwhelming sense of trauma and hopelessness which can at times be extremely difficult to navigate and process alone.

Different people have different coping mechanisms, some may go into denial or anger as way of processing, whilst others may use food, alcohol or drugs to numb.

There is no specific timeline for the process of grief. Some people may need a couple of weeks, for others, it could take months or even years.

Some people can learn to deal with their grief and move on with the help of social support, like friends and family, but it is not as simple as that for everyone. It is especially difficult for people who have gone through multiple traumatic events or those who are experiencing compound forms of grief; and it’s these people who often need external help.

EFT can be used as a short-term solution for managing the emotional impact of grief and loss, or it can be used as part of a long-term self-care practice. The effects of EFT are

accumulative, and regular use can lead to lasting emotional balance and well-being.

EFT helps you overcome emotional pain and move forward in life. I understand that the loss of a loved one can be one of the hardest experiences anyone can face, but I also believe that with the right help and support, healing is possible.

I have first-hand experience of using EFT Tapping for myself and also with many of my clients who may be experiencing loss.

I’ve been using EFT regularly myself to help process, accept and stay present with a deep loss I’m experiencing. My mum has Alzheimer’s, they say it’s the long goodbye as you’re losing that person constantly, but very slowly. They are here in person, but they aren’t the person you remember. Mum knows my name is Emma and she loves me, but she doesn’t really know why. Maybe it’s an energy that she remembers as she was a Reiki Master also like myself. Tapping helps me continuously process all this loss and deep sadness and allows me to feel it as it shows up. Which can be at all different times, as grief comes in waves.

As an advanced EFT practitioner, I’ll hold a loving and safe space for you, allowing all your feelings to be heard.
